Last two weeks have been exhausting, exciting and very productive, all at the same time.
I spent three days in NYC - along with my friend Nicole from vestige HOME - exploring NY NOW, a bi annual wholesale trade show. To say it was informative, eye opening and perspective adjusting is an understatement. We have walked the entire three sections of the show, consisting of 9000 vendors, and talked to several exhibitors about their experience, asked about advice and tips. We gained some invaluable knowledge, took a lot of pictures giving us ideas on how we would set up our booth and got an idea in which section of the show we would like to be. Even though we didn`t have time to explore the city, we were very lucky to find several spots with amazing food. I love finding new restaurants when I travel.
Some of you might know that I am one of VT artists featured in Frog Hollow and PBS Green Mountain Artisans short film series. There are four episodes, highlighting four makers in each episode and an interview with yours truly is a part of last segment - emerging artists (episodes are airing every Tuesday in February at 7pm on Vermont PBS and are available online right after). I have not seen the film yet and I am not sure if I ever will. It`s the most vulnerable I have ever been in my life and the thought of listening and watching myself speak on camera is just terrifying. English is not my first language and it`s always been a source of a lot of insecurity for me. Anyway, this past Saturday Frog Hollow hosted an informal reception for artists and film makers involved in this project and it was absolutely amazing to meet everyone, learn about their journeys and stories. You can watch the episodes over HERE.
I also failed at making my own brass bedside sconce lamps and decided to order these beauties in black and brass finish, finally found THE perfect rug for my living room from Joinery and have a pair amazing mid century style chairs and honed marble coffee table coming this week (pictures to come).
I have also finalized my spring collection of pillows, pouches and fabrics - stay tuned for a fresh batch of pillows at the end of this month!
