Spring is officially here! Well, not quite yet but I am most definitely in a spring mood. I am so excited to share with you my Spring Textile Collection. It consists of a range of pillows and fabrics - all either digitally printed by a wonderful small studio in Pennsylvania or hand screen printed in my Vermont studio. All printed with love and care on 100% Belgian linen with eco friendly dyes and inks.
This season I focused on soft spring hues, like blush and nude with a hint on navy and marine and textural, layered patterns that can be mixed and matched. All the designs started as sketches, paintings and experiments with various objects, inks and paints. For example, I created the storm pattern by wrapping a wooden block in a piece of linen, dipping it in gouache paint and making marks on watercolor paper. It`s so textural that can almost read as solid and serves as beautiful background for smaller patterns. The Speckle design had its start during one of my painting sessions last summer. I used one of my absolute favorite mediums - calligraphy ink in marine blue - and started experimenting with marks, lines and textures. I have also decided to bring back everyone`s favorite - Half Moon - in two color ways, Cherry Blush and Ash Gray/Blue.
Last but not least, my master bedroom renovation is finished and it is the perfect background for this collection. The space as well as all the pillows and fabrics are a pure reflection of my aesthetic and it only felt right to photograph them together.
